After starting on homeopathy, for the first few months it was very  difficult for me to ascertain if I was making progress. I didn’t realize  it but I had started reacting differently to situations. I had started  being a little more aware of what was going ‘wrong’.

A few people remarked that I looked more relaxed and slowly I found  myself standing up for myself and setting limits in situations where  previously I would given in too easily. Now, just 16 months later, I  find myself stronger and feel a greater control over my condition and  stressors. I’m resolving dilemmas that have been a major drain in my  life for the past 5-6 years. I’m moving forward and there is no denying  it. There is also no denying that Homeopathy and Lucy De Pieri’s  patience and extraordinary skill played a large part in this process.  Thank you doesn’t begin to express the gratitude – but it is a start.  Thank you Lucy! After many exhausting visits to medical doctors and specialists I  turned to Homeopathy. Aside from this I was desperate to unfold the many  knots in my personality. Who was I really and why am I behaving the way  I do.

My first meeting with Lucy…I thought, “How can she help me?” This lovely lady in a very simple lovely room.

I was in for the surprise of my life. She listened as I spoke and as I  confronted her with “her abilities” my unbridled energy in its scary,  dysfunctional confusion filled her room. What a state I was in.
I left unimpressed and received my remedy, which I was to do the hocus-  and things would change. Well I will give anything a try.
The answers I so desperately sought came pouring out.

As my emotional issues were so gently and undeniably addressed so were  my physical issues. Through the few months of treatment the sinus  problem COMPLETELY dissipated. Lucy had to bring it to my attention. I  was no longer suffering with this horrible issue. My energy returned, as  did a sense of well being that I had never really experienced in life.

The cause of the anxiety was coming from a place I never would have  expected. The remedies seemed to help me find all my Aaaah Haaa moments.

Now I know who I am. I know why I was constantly doing what I didn’t  want to do. I know how to deal with it all in a way that benefits  everyone. Feeling whole and well is truly a gift that I never thought  could be.

No drugs with ugly side effects. No emotional traumatic unraffling.

It appears to me that this treatment guides the body and strengthens  it so as to encourage physical and emotional healing simultaneously. The  trip was short, pleasant and very educating

What an amazing journey.

I am a mother of two children. Both were colicky babies until I was introduced to homeopathy. That was many years ago and I was so impressed of the gentle and yet profound way in which homeopathy solved the problem.

Colic pain is hard on baby and mom, but homeopathy has the answer.

In homeopathy we observe the whole person and we prescribe depending on the uniqueness of that person, meaning that we do not treat the disease but how the patient reacts when having certain symptoms of the disease.

For example, in case of colicky babies, there are four main remedies that may address the intensity of that situation. If the problem would persist the baby should be seen by a professional homeopath for a constitutional remedy, that could address more the individual characteristics of the baby.

Chamomilla is used when the baby is extremely irritable and complains with the pain, nothing satisfies the baby, s/he is much better if carried, but yet it may be only briefly, soon the baby will start to fuss again. Babies that need Chamomilla might be teething, s/he might have diarrhea with greenish stools.

Colocynth this remedy is used when the baby bends double, pulling his / her little legs upwards with bend knees. This position this creates pressure in the abdomen which helps with the pain. This type of colic is better by applying gentle pressure on the abdomen, the baby is better by warm application and feels worse after eating or drinking

Discorea, this remedy is useful when the pains are worse when the baby bends forwards. Often babies straighten his little body or may even arch backwards for relief, for these babies Discorea is the remedy to use.

Magnesia phosphorica. The baby that benefits from this remedy has pains that are better by warm applications, warm drinks or by gentle rubbing. There are severe cramping and griping pains so that the shrieking from this baby might come in waves, for few minutes the baby might be fine but soon another wave of pain will start the shrieking again.

Pulsatilla the remedy is given to a very mild and sweet baby that weeps with the pain, s/he wants a lot of affection. The colic may start after the breast-feeding mother had rich foods.

So, there is more than one solution for calming the pains of a colicky baby, so that both mom and baby can return to sleep or have a peaceful day.

Quartz is the second most common mineral in the Earth’s continental crust. It is mainly composed of Silica or Silica based minerals.

1. Case: Child with a pencil tip embedded into right thumb.
The child accidentally stabbed himself with a very sharp pencil at school. The tip of the pencil broke and it embedded in the child’s right thumb. Mom was concerned that the lead of the pencil was real lead (it is carbon in the form of graphite) and was very worried

about potential lead poisoning. She took the child to the doctor, and was reassured that there was no lead in the pencil. She calmed down but she still wanted to remove the tip from her son’s thumb. The doctor told her that there was nothing that could be done and proudly showed 2 such tips in his own hand, from a similar childhood experience. Mom was determined; she tried various things including breaking the skin with a sharp needle after warming up the hand – no luck; she bought a special brush to brush the tip off – no luck. It was late in the evening when she called. She had given up and was asking if homeopathy could help.
I prescribed Silica 30c to be taken 3 times a day until something would start to change – and then stop.
After taking the remedy for less than 2 days the child observed a drop forming where the pencil tip was embedded. He told me later that he was a bit scared to see the gray drop as it was forming on his thumb. Mom later told me that she kept the site covered with a Band-Aid and replaced it regularly; she could see gray particles from the pencil tip, deposited on the used Band-Aid. I saw the child 4 days later. All there was left on his thumb was a slightly scrape where mom broke the skin.
The child commented to me that homeopathy is “sooo cool, it is like magic.” I agree with him – homeopathy is cool but there is no magic, it is the amazing power of Silica in action that we experienced.

2. Case: A Spider bite

It is likely that the bite was from a Brown Recluse spider, Loxosceles reclusa.

An acquaintance showed me a blister on her forearm. It looked like a burn that you get while taking something from the oven. The blister was about 2 ½ cm long and looked flaccid. “It looks like a burn, eh? Well, it is not: it is a spider bite,” she said. I was curious. She asked me if I could look up what type of spider it was. It was not an easy task but the more I read about spider bites the more I realized that it must have been from a venomous spider. Spider bites that produce a blister are from venomous spiders. The bite had a red ring around it; there was no pain but the area looked slightly inflamed. It looked similar to the picture of the Violin spider in

Although I was not able to find what spider gave such a bite, it was clear that is was unlikely to have been from a Violin spider. However, the large blister indicated that:

1. The bite came from a venomous spider of unknown species
2. Venom from spiders is either neurotoxic or cytotoxic.
3. Neurotoxic venom affects the neuromuscular junctions, giving rise to a number of symptoms. Since it was early days she did not have other symptoms.
4. Cytotoxic venom affects the cellular tissue but it can spread to other parts of the body.
5. Ulcers and necrosis of the adjacent tissue can develop in few days.
6. Allopathic treatment consists of antibiotics to treat a possible secondary infection.
7. A decision would have to be made quickly!

I saw her early the next morning. She mentioned that she was having neurological problems – she kept tripping on things. It turned out that she was a chiropractor so she knew the origins of her symptoms.

We decided that since we did not know what spider gave the bite, and there is no anti-venom for most spider bites, we would try to remove the venom.

Again, I prescribed Silica 30c, 3 doses a day for 3 days, and to stop earlier if something changed. I suggested keeping the blister covered in the event fluid containing the venom was to be released – not a good idea to have that kind of fluid around. I asked her to contact me if things got worse. She told me later that it took 2 days and then a surprising amount of liquid came out from the blister. She was very surprised at how much fluid came out. At the same time her neurological symptoms resolved.
I saw her a few days later and the blister was almost gone; there was no more inflammation and she was healing nicely. After a few weeks there was not even a scar left.

People with spider bites of the venomous type often end up in the Emergency Department. It is not uncommon for a spider bite to take 2 to 4 weeks to heal, depending on the type of spider; there is risk of repercussions from the bite. So once more homeopathy healed quickly, saving a visit to the Emergency and a course of antibiotics. The question arises: “When will the BC Health Ministry finally recognize our role in keeping British Colombians healthy?” It is certainly time for homeopathy to be accepted.

It was a cold dark night and I had cancelled the appointment twice before finally going to see the Homeopath. It was a strange session lasting 2 ½ hours or more in which I talked of everything, as Alice would say, ‘Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings.’ My experience was astounding and every detail is still etched in my mind. Looking back, my Homeopath listened in a way that I had never experienced before. That it was non-judgmental doesn’t quite express it—because good psychologists also have the ability to deeply listen. What was more astonishing was the way the Homeopath cared. She actually cared. I mean really cared. I wasn’t her job or duty, but she actually cared that I get better. I had never come across that in my life. I felt giddy during the session as though I had taken a gigantic leap over a precipice but I knew I’d land on my feet. I didn’t believe for a second that the Homeopath would actually be able to help me. I am slightly embarrassed to admit that at the time I thought that I may be throwing some money away. I had spent years battling my problems and I didn’t believe that any remedy could help ME. I hoped, but belief? No way.

Anyway, fast forward to the remedy. I took my first dose which seemed laughable because it was so small (a teaspoon from half a cup of water in which only 1 drop of remedy had been stirred and I had to bang the remedy before). “What woo woo stuff is this?,” I thought, but at least it can’t kill me. And it was then, at the moment of complete disbelief that like Alice in Wonderland my world changed.

In objective fact, over the next few weeks and month, I started to heal in a way that I never believed was possible. In my experience, my world had changed forever. I thank my stars for the impulse that took me to a Homeopath and wonder at what made me. I think I was desperate and she had the kindest face I had ever seen. I knew almost nothing about Homeopathy other than it is harmless. I had started to actively dislike my GP who fed me all sorts of crap ranging from Singulair to Zantac to Steroid inhalers to Antibiotics on a regular basis, with what now seems little cause. I boil to think of the amount of garbage I put into my body because an ‘expert’ (who did not even have 5 minutes to listen to me) told me.

My Homeopath (Classical Homeopath) practices a kind of healing that must be experienced to be understood. If there is any debate about how it works, it should be suspended simply because there is no doubt whatsoever that it works. People who struggle with problems like depression for years can suddenly find incredible relief in a few days. Homeopathy even works for incurable diseases like Cancer, Autism etc. Yet, Homeopaths don’t say they have a ‘cure’ for these diseases because their methodology is totally different. They treat the person, not the disease, and every person is unique. For one person a tiny infinitesimal dose of one remedy is enough, for others a few months or more of tiny doses of many remedies are necessary. Homeopaths go very gently because the infinitely small doses though completely safe for the body are powerful energy medicines. Homeopaths monitor and watch very carefully to ensure that the person is healing safely and they use remedies one at a time. Often people seek out Homeopathy when all other therapies have failed and they have wreaked havoc on their bodies from various drugs. The miracle is that it still works.

What amazes me is why Classical Homeopathy isn’t available easily to more people? It would be an unparalleled gift to humanity and a boon to this troubled and polluted planet. All ye listen, it would increase productivity and it costs so much less than other systems. Yet, today neither MSP nor Private Health Insurers cover pure Homeopathic healing by Classical Homeopaths. Instead, if a Naturopath practices Homeopathy that’s usually covered. Homeopathy can be practiced in many ways, however, its life changing power is in constitutional customized prescribing that only full qualified Homeopaths can do successfully.
Homeopathy is also great for acute episodes of sickness such as the common cold/flu. The amount of flu and cold that goes around these days is unbelievable. People are literally afraid to shake hands in the winter, but with Homeopathy, these annoying episodes can be cured in a day without side effects or lingering coughs. For example, three days ago I experienced the power of a remedy called Gelsemium for flu. Two doses and one day later I was back to a more than full day of work without any aches and pains or any lingering post flu issues. However, the remedy has to match the flu symptoms otherwise it won’t work. (There are many flu remedies in Homeopathy and it is best to ask a Homeopath which one to take).

A year ago, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a stomach pain of unknown origin. I almost missed having an operation to take out my Appendix because it was misdiagnosed as appendicitis. I had 3 ultrasounds and 2 CAT scans over 4 days and I was on heavy painkillers that exhausted me for months afterwards. I estimate that my sickness cost the system $3000 if not more and there was no ‘treatment’ for it. This type of situation is called an Acute in Homeopathy and there are many remedies (cost $5.00 to treat these kinds of diseases).

Because of these experiences, I can no longer deny the tragic inadequacy of the medical system that depends on expensive medicines, diagnostic equipment and tests, but they often cannot ‘cure’ the disease. They resort to painkillers, steroids, antibiotics etc that beats the problem into submission for a short time. Often, the ‘medicines’ make people sicker in the long run, but conveniently that’s another disease and since the drug trials have passed the drug, the person’s actual experience is insignificant until he is sick enough to sue!

If more people have a workable option for Homeopathy (through MSP or even private insurers) they would heal faster, avoid many side effects of drugs and cost the system a lot less. The old system isn’t working and it is quite broken. It is time for a renaissance in healing. It is time for the Wizards of Healing.
